“Busty Kraut,” the new short film by director Paul Acevedo is certainly an anomaly. The film has very little plot, characterization only because different actors do indeed occupy the roles, and is amateurish. However, it is still fun–mostly due to the fast pace and anything goes attitude on display.

Shot over two years (!), this no budget short details the afternoon of one Busty Kraut, played by Diana Siampyak, who discovers that her website designer has secretly obtained another woman to pose as her for the masses. Pissed off (and screaming every line), Busty kills her website designer and heads towards the website launch party. Once there, she and the other guests have a gun fight that lasts for the rest of the entire film–resulting in a blood bath. And that’s it.

Co-written by Acevedo and “The Bunny,” this darkly comedic take on the horror/grindhouse/dirty action picture is well played, only because it is so short. Were it any longer, it may have become unbearable but as is, it’s fun.

And the look of the film is, honesty, the best thing about it. I miss that old grimy VHS style look. (Sigh.)
